Terms of Use

By using Astuce Jeux HQ, you agree to the terms below. They are short because the site is simple: there are no accounts, no payments, and no user-submitted content.

1. Use of the site

The site is offered free of charge, for entertainment purposes. You may play as much as you like, on as many devices as you like. We ask only that you not try to disrupt how it works for others, and that you not present it as your own.

2. No gambling

None of the four games involves a wager, a prize, a drawing, virtual currency, or a purchase. Best scores and streaks can't be exchanged for anything and stay on your device. Because there is no consideration and no prize, and because the outcome depends on skill, the games are not gambling, a lottery, or a sweepstakes under state gambling, sweepstakes and contest laws or the federal Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act (UIGEA). This site is not a gambling service and is not a gateway to one.

3. Intellectual property

The code, texts, illustrations, and grid generators are ours and remain our property, protected under the U.S. Copyright Act (Title 17 U.S.C.). You may play them and talk about them freely; you may not republish them as your own work. If you believe something on this site infringes your copyright, send a DMCA notice to [email protected].

4. No affiliation

The four games belong to well-established genres. We name those genres so you know what you're playing, not to suggest a connection that doesn't exist.

KenKen is a registered trademark of Nextoy LLC. Our arithmetic game is called Calcudoku, the generic name of the genre, and has no connection with Nextoy.
Kakuro and Sudoku are trademarks of the publisher Nikoli in some countries. The cross-sums genre itself is free; our grids are generated by our own code.
Futoshiki and the Skyscrapers puzzle are widespread logic genres, not trademarks. Our grids come from our own code.
None of these publishers or companies is associated with this site, sponsors it, or endorses it.

5. No warranty

The site is provided “as is”. We test it seriously — the rules of each game are covered by automated tests, and every grid is re-solved to prove its uniqueness — but we don't guarantee uninterrupted operation, a total absence of bugs, or compatibility with every browser past and future.

6. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect damages arising from use of the site. Since the site is free and collects no personal information, the exposure on both sides is slim.

7. Content kept on your device

Your best scores and your streak live in your browser's local storage. Clearing that storage erases them permanently. We keep no copy and therefore can't restore them.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Alaska and applicable U.S. federal law, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Nothing here limits non-waivable consumer rights you have under the laws of your state of residence, including under Section 5 of the FTC Act and state consumer-protection (UDAP) statutes.
